ABOUT RENOVATION

At Renovation City Church, our mission is to renovate our city with God’s Blueprint: His Message (the gospel) and His Method (disciple-making). Check out the video to see Pastor Nathan Law share the Renovation vision.

OUR LEADERSHIP
The Renovation City Church leaders are committed to our city and the gospel.
Nathan Law

Lead Pastor

Nathan is the founding and lead pastor of Renovation City Church. Nathan and Heather married in 2003 after serving with a campus ministry in Arkansas for 10 years. They served in several local churches in both Arkansas and Texas, before moving to Pearland in 2018 with the vision to plant a life-giving church.

Over the past two years they participated in Houston Church Planting Network’s church planting residency program while working as CityView Church’s church planting residency program. The Laws have two boys, Nathaniel and Aiden, and five girls, Blake, Isabella, Olivia, Paisley, and Scarlett.

Nathan received a Business Administration degree from John Brown University, a MABS from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a D. Min in Expository Preaching from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Robert Clark

Associate and Life Group Pastor

Both Robert and Diana grew up overseas. Their shared interest in missions and church planting attracted them to each other. After planting a church in Spring, Texas, they began a career with the International Mission Board as missionaries to the Philippines in 1985. They planted churches, trained leaders, and equipped Filipinos as missionaries to other countries.

In December 2015, the Clarks retired from the mission field to care for aging parents and be closer to their three married children and grandchildren. In 2020, Robert became the interim pastor of Garden Road Baptist Church, an aging congregation. He encouraged the church to merge with another congregation rather than just call a new pastor. And in June of 2023, the church voted to merge with Renovation City Church.

Robert now serves as Associate and Life Group Pastor and is excited to be back in church planting!

OUR BELIEFS
Below are the essential beliefs that form the foundation of Renovation City Church.
“In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity.”

Triune God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1,26,27, 3:22 ; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Father

We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

Genesis 2:7, Exodus 3:14, Ephesians 3:14-15, James 1:17, 1 Corinthians 8:6, Ephesians 1:3, John 1:12, John 20:17

Son

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; 14:10 -30; Hebrews 4:14,15; 1 Corinthians 15:3,4; Romans 1:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14,15; Titus 2:13

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they step over the line of faith. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily.

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16 ,17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12 , 3:16 ; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18

God’s Word

The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160 & 12:6; Proverbs 30:5

Salvation

Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 14:6, 1:12 ; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

Mankind

We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are saved and regenerated by the Holy Spirit.

Romans 2:2,3,5; Ephesians  2:8,9; Genesis 1:27, 9:6; Romans 3:23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1

Church

We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible confession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world.

Ephesians 1:22-23, 5:24-30; 1 Corinthians 12:4-13, 27

Ordinances

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that the Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the triune God. We believe that the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Christ, for the Christ-follower, for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16; Acts 8:12, 36-38, 9:18, 10:47; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Last Things

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal happiness of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the wicked.

Titus 2:13; 1 Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-18, 5:4-10; John 14:1-3; Matthew 24:21, 29, 30,  25:31-46; Revelation 3:10, 20:1-6, 11-15
